Boxer Conor Benn Charged By UKAD Over Positive Drugs Tests, Faces Possible Two-Year Ban

Photo: Instagram/Conor Benn UK Anti-Doping has charged boxer Conor Benn over his two positive drugs tests, which led to the cancellation of his fight against Chris Eubank Jr in October last year.  The charge could result in a two-year ban if Benn is found guilty.  UKAD made the rare move of publicly announcing the development following a report by Mail Sport that the fighter was co-operating with investigators. A charge was issued on 3 April under article 2.2 of UKAD's rules on the "use" of a banned substance. This gives UKAD the option of applying the standard of strict liability, making an athlete responsible for what is found in their system.
