Morgan is continuing a defamation lawsuit he filed in 2021, claiming Mariah’s memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey , damaged his reputation. The court has ordered both siblings to give depositions by January 31, 2025. This legal action stems from Morgan's claims that Mariah made false statements about him in her book, calling him her "ex-brother" and accusing him of causing harm to her.  He is seeking a court decision to clear his name and undo the damage he says the book caused.
