The custom Gibson CEO4 guitar, signed by Hammett, was expected to sell for only $6,000. Hammett used the guitar to play BLACK SABBATH’s “Hole In The Sky” during the show. The sale included a hard case and a backstage pass signed by Gibson CEO Cesar Gueikian. The guitar was part of Julien’s Auctions’ “Played, Worn & Torn” event, which offered over 800 music-related items. Hammett said he hopes collectors will play the guitars rather than let them sit unused.
