Lady Gaga Calls Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Praise For "Mayhem Ball" ‘A Dream Come True’

Photo: Lady Gaga, Andrew Lloyd Webber / Instagram   Lady Gaga couldn’t hide her excitement after musical legend Andrew Lloyd Webber praised her Mayhem Ball  show.  The Jesus Christ Superstar  composer called the concert “fabulous” after seeing it at London’s O2 Arena two weeks ago.  In a video review, Webber said Gaga’s show was full of energy and real live singing, unlike some artists who use pre-recorded tracks.  Photo: Lady Gaga / Instagram   He praised her stage presence, saying she “really knows how to handle an audience.”   Webber also noted a moment in the show that reminded him of The Phantom of the Opera , when Gaga sang “Shallow” while being rowed in a gondola on stage.  He said it felt like something from his own work and called the performance “absolutely fabulous.”  Gaga later saw his review and commented with a crying emoji, writing, “this is a dream come true.”  The singer has long said she’s a huge fan of musical the...

Comedian Tim Dillon Slams ‘Joker’ Sequel As “Worst Film Ever” On Joe Rogan Podcast

Photo: Tim Dillon, Lady Gaga, and Joaquin Phoenix / Instagram Comedian Tim Dillon, who had a brief role as a security guard in "Joker: Folie à Deux," recently criticized the movie while on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast.  Dillon called Todd Phillips ’ “Joker” sequel “the worst film ever made.” The movie did not do well with critics or at the box office, earning just $58 million in the U.S. and $204 million worldwide— far below the original “Joker” movie, which made $1 billion. Dillon explained his disappointment, saying, “It’s the worst film ever made.” He shared his view that after the first “Joker” movie, some people labeled it as a “male rage” film with the wrong message. He thinks that, as a response, the creators decided to go in a very different direction with the sequel. The result, according to Dillon, is a movie where stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga end up tap dancing in Arkham Asylum, the setting for the film. Photo: Tim Dillon / Instagram   Di...

Hideo Kojima Believes ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Will Be Better Liked In 10-20 Years

Photo: Lady Gaga, Joaquin Phoenix/Instagram   Video game creator Hideo Kojima, famous for "Death Stranding," thinks "Joker: Folie à Deux" may get  more respect  in the future. The movie, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga , didn’t do well with critics and has only made a bit over $200 million at the box office—much less than the first "Joker" film, which earned over $1 billion. Kojima believes that, with time, people might come to appreciate it. Kojima shared his thoughts on social media, saying the movie opens with an animated sequence like the classic "Looney Tunes." This leads into a story where Joker's identity is questioned—who is he really, and is he even one person? He feels this film goes deeper into who Joker (or Arthur, Joker's alter ego) really is, something that might make audiences think more about hero and villain roles. Kojima commented that today, many movies feature "poetic justice" heroes who fight aga...

Director Todd Phillips Calls On Theaters To Cut Pre-Movie Commercials

Photo: Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) “Joker” director Todd Phillips wants theaters to stop playing commercials before movies. In a recent survey by Empire magazine about the future of movie theaters, Phillips shared his thoughts on making the movie-watching experience better. Phillips believes that commercials before a film “take the air out of the room.” He says that people are excited to see the movie they paid for, not watch ads. Phillips isn’t alone in thinking that theaters should improve the experience, especially as more people choose to stream movies at home. Many filmmakers in the poll, including “Mad Max” director George Miller, think movie theaters will always be popular because people enjoy watching movies together. Miller said that humans are “hard-wired to gather” and share stories. Photo: Joaquin Phoenix, Todd Phillips (Instagram) Daniel Scheinert, co-director of “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” agreed. He believes theaters are places for “community” an...

I am strong, and I am up for the challenge,” she wrote. “Disease” gives fans a preview of Gaga’s upcoming seventh album, set to release in February. Joker Sequel Drops $33M at Box Office

Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) The movie Joker: Folie à Deux  had a tough second weekend at the North American box office, with earnings falling from $40 million to just $7.1 million. In second place was the animated movie The Wild Robot  with $13.4 million. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice  dropped to fourth with $7 million. Critics have mixed feelings about Joker: Folie à Deux , starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga . Some call it "bleak and daring," while others say it’s "depressingly dull." Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) In fifth place was Piece by Piece , a comedy-drama made with Lego animation. It features voices from stars like Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, and Gwen Stefani. Joaquin Phoenix Talks About Joker 2’s Shocking Ending

Photo: Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) Joaquin Phoenix has spoken out about the controversial ending of Joker: Folie à Deux , the sequel to the 2019 hit Joker . The film has not done well at the box office since its release and has faced criticism from fans and critics. In Folie à Deux , Arthur Fleck, also known as the Joker, is on trial for the murders he committed in the first movie. The film also introduces Lee Quinzel (played by Lady Gaga ), a new version of the character Harley Quinn. At the end of the movie, Fleck gives up being the Joker and goes back to prison. In the final scene, another prisoner comes up to him and offers to tell him a joke. Instead, the prisoner stabs Fleck multiple times and carves a smile into his own face. Fleck dies on the floor, bleeding out. Photo: Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga (Instagram) This scene has divided fans, with many upset about the ending. Joker Sequel Struggles: Who's To Blame?

Photo: Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) The sequel to Joker , called Joker: Folie À Deux , isn't doing well. Fans and critics are wondering why. The first Joker  movie was a hit, making lots of money and earning Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar.  The follow-up, with Lady Gaga joining the cast, was expected to succeed too. Instead, it’s been a costly failure.   Many think the problem lies with the movie being a mix of a musical and a superhero story, without fully committing to either.   Warner Bros. seems unhappy that the sequel didn’t feel “Joker” enough. Todd Phillips , the director, didn’t even meet with DC Studios leaders, showing he wanted to do his own thing, separate from their universe. Photo: Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) Reports suggest that Warner Bros. disagreed with Phillips on many things, like his decision to shoot in Los Angeles and not holding test screenings. Despite these issues, the studio claims they supported his vision. In the end, it seems Warner Bros. gav...

Why Won’t They Show Harley Quinn’s Real Story In Movies?

Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) The movie "Joker: Folie à Deux" was expected to finally show the true, chaotic origin of Harley Quinn, one of DC’s most famous characters. But once again, her full story was left out. Harley’s complex past, which involves her falling for the Joker while treating him as his psychiatrist, wasn’t fully explored in the film. This has disappointed many fans. The character Harley Quinn was first created for the 1990s "Batman: The Animated Series." She became popular because of her twisted relationship with the Joker, where both characters influence each other’s madness. Harley is not just a victim but is also deeply involved in the Joker’s crimes. Yet, this key part of her character has never been properly shown in live-action movies. In "Joker: Folie à Deux," Lady Gaga plays Harley, but her version is a patient in the same mental institution as Arthur Fleck, the Joker. This version of Harley doesn’t explore the psychological manipu...

Audience Rejection of Joker 2 Could Impact James Gunn’s Superman Movie

Photo: Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) The latest DC movie, Joker: Folie À Deux , has not performed well at the box office, and this could affect future DC films, including James Gunn’s upcoming Superman  project.  The sequel to the original Joker  movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga , made less than $38 million during its opening weekend in the U.S. This is much lower than expected, and fans seem to be rejecting the film. This poor performance is making Warner Bros. executives nervous. An insider has even called the situation "complete audience rejection." Photo: Joaquin Phoenix (Instagram) The low earnings raise concerns about how other DC movies will do, including James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy . Gunn is already facing pressure after several other DC films, like The Flash  and Shazam! Fury of the Gods , failed to meet box office expectations. Although Joker: Folie À Deux  was not directly connected to Gunn’s DC Universe (DCU), its weak showing could sti...

Director Todd Phillips Explains Why He Cut Lady Gaga's Kiss Scene In "Joker: Folie à Deux"

Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) In Joker: Folie à Deux , a scene where Lady Gaga kisses a woman was filmed but didn’t make it to the final version.  Director Todd Phillips recently shared why he decided to cut the scene in an interview with Entertainment Weekly . The moment was supposed to happen outside a courthouse in Gotham City before one of Arthur Fleck's (played by Joaquin Phoenix ) court appearances. Gaga's character, Lee, had been released from Arkham State Hospital and was there to support Arthur. As she walked up the courthouse steps, she kissed a woman in the crowd of protestors. Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) Phillips explained that while the kiss was improvised by Gaga, it didn’t fit the mood of the scene. “I wanted it to be more of a music and vibe moment," he said. For the scene to work, the woman would have needed to speak first, which would have taken away from the musical flow. Phillips also talked about how Phoenix was nervous about singing live with Lady Ga...

In an interview with Rolling Stone , Gaga talked about how she’s mixing things up, saying her character influenced how she approached the music this time.  But how would Tony have reacted to this change? Gaga mentioned that Bennett wasn’t a big fan of rock music, but he would have still supported her. “He would’ve said, ‘Wow, that’s amazing,’” she said, even if it wasn’t his style. Photo: Lady Gaga (Instagram) Gaga also described Bennett as a kind and open-minded person who never questioned her choices, whether it was her outfit, singing style, or bold stage performances.
