During the game, Green stepped on the chest of Kings center Domantas Sabonis. The suspension was announced on Wednesday by Joe Dumars , Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. Green's history of unsportsmanlike behavior was a factor in the decision. The incident occurred after Sabonis grabbed and held onto Green's ankle while falling to the floor. Green responded by stepping on Sabonis' chest, resulting in a Flagrant Foul 2 and his ejection from the game. Sabonis was also assessed a technical foul.
