Photo: Canelo Alvarez (Instagram) Canelo Alvarez won a dominant fight against Edgar Berlanga in a unanimous decision on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 34-year-old super middleweight champion controlled most of the fight, making it his eighth successful title defense.  The sold-out crowd of 20,312 chanted Alvarez’s name throughout the night. Berlanga, 27, suffered his first career loss, bringing his record to 22-1-0. Despite his effort, he couldn’t match Alvarez’s skill and experience.  Canelo landed more punches, hitting 43.3% of his shots compared to Berlanga’s 26.7%. The fight will take place soon, and Berlanga has been talking a lot to try to shake Alvarez's confidence. In May, Canelo had a big win against fellow Mexican fighter Jaime Munguia. Many fans were hoping that Canelo would fight David Benavidez next, but it looks like he has other plans. Some have even mentioned the idea of Canelo facing Terence Crawford . However, in a recent interview, Alvarez hinted that he might be more interested in a rematch against Dmitry Bivol.
