The possibility of the match was previously hinted at during an episode of Monday Night RAW in 2009 and further teased at WrestleMania 32, where the two faced off in the Andre The Giant Battle Memorial. Diamond Sheik recently visited O'Neal at his home and shared a video on Twitter in which O'Neal stated his desire for the match to take place in AEW.
