The two heavyweights, both UFC legends, fought twice with each winning one fight. Miocic wanted one more fight to settle things, but it never came together. Miocic first fought Ngannou on January 20, 2018. At the time, Ngannou was known for his devastating knockouts, and many thought Miocic would lose. However, Miocic used his wrestling skills to control Ngannou, winning the fight by decision. When they fought again three years later, Ngannou had improved a lot, especially in his wrestling.
