The sad news was shared by his former bandmate Steevi Jaimz, who posted a heartfelt message on Facebook confirming Finchum’s death over the weekend. He was part of the classic TIGERTAILZ lineup with Jaimz, bassist Pepsi Tate, and guitarist Jay Pepper. Finchum played drums on the band’s first three albums, Young & Crazy (1987), Bezerk (1990), and Banzai! (1991). Pepsi Tate passed away from cancer in 2007. TIGERTAILZ, from Cardiff, Wales, gained fame in the late ’80s for their glam metal sound and energetic style, standing out among bands like MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON.
