Shyne spent nearly 10 years in prison for his role in the incident, while Diddy was cleared of charges. As Shyne promotes his new Hulu documentary, "The Honorable Shyne," he talked about the shooting and his past with Diddy. He claims that while he didn't see Diddy shoot anyone, he felt he was set up to take the fall. However, he says he has now moved on from the past. The incident happened in 1999 during the making of the music video for Nas’s song, Hate Me Now . In the video, Diddy was shown wearing a crown of thorns and posed like he was on a cross. Though he initially approved the final version, Diddy changed his mind just before its release. Sony had already spent $14,000 on the scene, and they refused to remove it. Diddy and two associates later went to Stoute’s office to confront him.
