Popovich has missed the last six Spurs games due to what was initially called a "health issue." The team clarified that he had suffered the stroke on November 2, just before a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson has taken over as interim head coach while Popovich is away. The Spurs have not announced when he might return to coaching.
