Jimmy Garoppolo Could Return For Super Bowl If 49ers Advance

Jimmy Garoppolo's return to the 49ers could be possible if they beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game and advance to Super Bowl LVII.

Despite being inactive for the NFC title game, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Garoppolo is "able to practice" based on his ankle scans, according to sources.

Garoppolo sustained a broken left foot in Week 13 but since then, rookie QB Brock Purdy has filled in without a loss.

The 49ers signed veteran QB Josh Johnson as Purdy's backup, but if the 49ers win and Garoppolo can practice, he could become the backup.

Garoppolo's original recovery estimate was 6-7 weeks and he has been making progress, walking on his own, and working with team medical staff.

The 49ers didn't place him on IR due to his potential playoff return.

Although Purdy has performed well, many fans wonder if Garoppolo should step in, but as of now, Purdy remains QB1.

Having Garoppolo, who is familiar with Shanahan's system, as a backup could be the 49ers' best option if they make it to their second Super Bowl in three years.

The two bands started the run earlier this year to honor the 20th anniversaries of “Ascendancy” and “The Poison.” Plans were made for a full world tour, but things stopped after just three months. TRIVIUM bassist Paolo Gregoletto said Bullet singer Matt Tuck pulled out, adding that he was the only decision maker for the band. Photo: Matt Heafy / Instagram   Bullet later shared a statement saying they respect TRIVIUM but wanted to focus on making a new album instead. In a new interview, Heafy said TRIVIUM wanted to keep going but their “dance partner dropped off.” He confirmed TRIVIUM will now push ahead with their own “Ascend Above The Ashes” tour this fall with Jinjer and Heriot. The band also has a new EP, “Struck Dead,” coming in October and plans to play songs from across their career. Read Next: Lola Young Cancels Second S...
