Rey Mysterio Misses 2023 WWE Royal Rumble, Son Dominik Causes Stir

Rey Mysterio missed the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble despite being listed as entrant 17.

The reason for his absence is believed to be related to his past.

His son Dominik Mysterio appeared as entrant 18 wearing his father's mask, before tearing it apart, implying he attacked Rey backstage.

There have been rumors of a father-son feud, with reports of a tag team championship run between Dominik and Damian Priest, and a match between Rey and Dominik at WrestleMania Hollywood.

The 30-man Rumble was won by Cody Rhodes.
Dominik, Dinn Balor, and Damian Priest formed a stable but were defeated by Edge.

A brawl continued outside the ring with Rhea Ripley joining, but Edge was assisted by his wife Beth Phoenix.

Rey Mysterio was feuding with Karrion Kross before the Rumble. It's unclear if tonight's events will shift his focus to a personal feud.
