Anthony Davis Urged To Step Up For Lakers As LeBron James Faces Extended Injury Layoff

Los Angeles Lakers' star LeBron James is set to miss at least two weeks of the NBA season due to an injury, and Anthony Davis has been urged to step up in his absence.

Davis is expected to fill the void left by James, who suffered the injury in the team's 111-108 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

The Lakers are used to dealing with injuries, but usually it is Davis who spends time in the treatment room rather than James.

James continued to play through the pain on Sunday and was vital in their terrific comeback win against the Mavericks.

However, the injury comes at a crucial point in the season, and James is expected to be out for at least two or three weeks.

The Lakers have been performing well lately, with four wins in their last five games and a successful trade window, but they will need Davis to lead them in James' absence.

Despite the short-term win, losing James could have a significant impact on the team's long-term prospects, especially as the playoffs approach.

James himself posted on Instagram saying "F****** sucks" and acknowledging the importance of the remaining 21 games of the season.
