Ahead of his long-awaited return to the octagon in a heavyweight title fight against Cyril Gane, Jon Jones has revealed his top five UFC fighters of all time.

Notably, the former light heavyweight champion snubbed Conor McGregor when naming his favorites.

Jones included himself, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jose Aldo on his list.

He had high praise for Khabib, citing his representation of his Muslim faith, his country, and his philanthropy.

While Jones and Khabib have had differences in the past, the American fighter considers him a stand-up guy and an admirable man.

In contrast, McGregor, who is set to end his hiatus from the octagon when he takes on Michael Chandler as part of The Ultimate Fighter, was not included on Jones' list.

Despite being considered one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time, the Irishman has suffered a significant decline since his peak days, where he defeated the likes of Jose Aldo, Max Holloway, and Eddie Alvarez.

McGregor believes he has what it takes to make a successful return and may even challenge for a title at 170lbs if he beats Chandler.

Jones, who has not fought since 2020 when he defeated Dominick Reyes, will put his skills to the test in his switch to the top division.

UFC fans are eagerly anticipating his return, as well as McGregor's, who is one of the sport's biggest draws.

Although McGregor was not included on Jones' list, he remains a dominant force in the sport and will be looking to prove himself once again when he steps into the octagon.

During the bout, Gaethje landed heavy punches and kicks that Khabib admitted were painful. “He hit like a truck,” Khabib said on Mike Tyson ’s Hotboxin' podcast. “His left hook, right hook, uppercut—they all hurt. But I made him hit me because I knew he didn’t like wrestling. My plan was to tire him out by standing with him, then take him to the ground and finish the fight.” Photo: Khabib Nurmagomedov / Instagram Khabib ended the fight with a triangle choke submission. He explained he chose the move out of respect for Gaethje’s parents, who were watching. “I didn’t want to break his arm in front of his parents,” Khabib said. “So I put him to sleep instead.
