LeBron James And Lakers Pull Off Largest Comeback of The Season Against Mavericks

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers made a historic comeback on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks, overcoming a 27-point deficit to secure a 111-108 win at the American Airlines Center.

This matched the largest comeback win in James' career and the biggest Lakers comeback win since 2002.

The Mavericks had held the Lakers to just 16 points in the first quarter, and the Lakers had missed their first 15 shots from behind the arc, making the situation seem bleak.

However, the Lakers chipped away at the lead and shut down Mavericks' stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the second half.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while James added 26 points and eight rebounds, shooting 10-of-23 from the field.

Jarred Vanderbilt finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Doncic scored 26 points, with 14 points coming in the first quarter, and Irving scored 21 points, with only four points coming in the fourth quarter.

The win was the largest comeback win anywhere in the league this season and marked the third straight victory for the Lakers and their fourth win in their last five games.

The Mavericks, on the other hand, have lost four of their last five games and have only won once with both Doncic and Irving on the floor since their trade.

The Lakers' win may have come at a cost, as James injured his right foot in the third quarter and was seen limping out of the arena after the game.

Although he insisted he never thought of sitting out the rest of the game, he did say he had been better.

The Lakers' medical team will reevaluate him in the morning, and he may miss their upcoming games against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

But when it comes to punching power, he says no one hit harder than Justin Gaethje . The two fought at UFC 254 on October 24, 2020. It was Khabib’s last fight before retiring. During the bout, Gaethje landed heavy punches and kicks that Khabib admitted were painful. “He hit like a truck,” Khabib said on Mike Tyson ’s Hotboxin' podcast. “His left hook, right hook, uppercut—they all hurt. But I made him hit me because I knew he didn’t like wrestling. My plan was to tire him out by standing with him, then take him to the ground and finish the fight.” Photo: Khabib Nurmagomedov / Instagram Khabib ended the fight with a triangle choke submission. He explained he chose the move out of respect for Gaethje’s parents, who were watching. “I didn’t want to break his arm in front of his parents,” Khabib said. “So I put him to sleep instead.
