LeBron James Injury Raises Concerns For Lakers Playoff Hopes

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James will miss Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to right foot soreness, while D'Angelo Russell is listed as doubtful with a right ankle sprain and Anthony Davis is listed as probable.

CBS Sports' Bill Reiter confirms that James' injury is the most concerning of the three, with fears that he may miss an extended period of time.

James injured his foot during Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks, during which he scored 26 points, added eight rebounds, and three assists.

The Lakers are reportedly preparing for the possibility of James missing multiple weeks due to his injury, which could be disastrous for their playoff chances.

Currently sitting at the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference with a 29-32 record, their next three games come against play-in contenders.

Without James, the Lakers have a 5-9 record this season.

While they managed to defeat the Warriors in their first game after trading Russell Westbrook, Golden State was missing Stephen Curry at the time.

Davis and Russell will need to step up in James' absence and keep the Lakers competitive.

However, Davis has only just returned from a two-month injury layoff himself, and the team cannot afford to fall too far behind in the standings.
