Ravens Considering Trade For Lamar Jackson In Exchange For Draft Picks, Sources Say

The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly considering trading quarterback Lamar Jackson for a "windfall of draft picks," according to sources cited by NFL Network.

Jackson is set to become a free agent this offseason, and while the Ravens have indicated they plan to retain him, the possibility of a trade has been an open secret for some time.

Jackson himself has recently posted a cryptic tweet suggesting he is unhappy with the situation.

While the Ravens have been saying the right things about retaining Jackson, critics argue they are not actually taking action.

One team that has been suggested as a potential destination for Jackson is the Atlanta Falcons, who could benefit greatly from the addition of a quarterback of his caliber.

However, any potential trade would likely involve Baltimore asking for three first-round draft picks.

The downside for the Falcons is that they would be left with a bare draft cupboard, as has been the case for other teams that have made similar moves in the past.

Meanwhile, the Ravens would be able to avoid paying Jackson a large salary and collect multiple first-round draft picks, but they would be left without a starting quarterback.

This is where Jackson's tweet about not taking chances with something good takes on added meaning, as the Ravens could be risking a lot by trading him away.

However, with the possibility of a "windfall" of picks, it is clear that the Ravens are at least considering this option.
