NBA Rescinds Luka Dončić's 16th Technical Foul, Saving Him From Suspension

The NBA office has rescinded Luka Dončić’s 16th technical foul, which would have led to his suspension if it had been upheld, making him available for the Dallas Mavericks' game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.

The foul was called during Sunday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets when Dončić expressed his disappointment to an official for not getting a foul call on a missed shot.

Referee Kevin Scott later stated that the technical foul was given to Dončić for using profanity against the officials who had correctly judged the play in a postgame video review. This reversal of the decision has given Dončić and the Mavericks some much-needed breathing room as they aim for a postseason spot.

The Mavericks are currently in the 11th seed in the Western Conference and are facing a four-game losing streak with only seven games left in the regular season.

However, despite the team's struggles, Dončić has been having his best season, ranking second in scoring behind Joel Embiid, averaging 33.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game.

Dončić has been having trouble with referees lately, having been hit with a $35,000 fine for an "inappropriate and unprofessional" gesture toward an official during their game against the Golden State Warriors on March 22.

The gesture seemed to suggest a monetary bribe or payment, which the league deemed unacceptable.

Dončić also expressed his frustrations after their first loss to the Hornets, but clarified that there are personal issues in his private life that may be contributing to his emotional state.

With Dončić available for the Pacers game, the Mavericks will have a better chance of turning things around and securing a spot in the playoffs.

Dončić's presence on the court is a vital factor in their success, and the team will be hoping to put their recent struggles behind them and finish the regular season strong.
