The Rock Admits Inspiration For Iconic Move Came From Legendary Wrestler

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a renowned figure in professional wrestling and continues to have a strong connection to the industry despite his flourishing career in Hollywood.

The People's Elbow is one of The Rock's most iconic finishing moves, and fans have always wanted to see him return to the WWE.

However, it has now been revealed that The Rock was inspired to create this move by The Great Muta, a legendary Japanese wrestler.

While The Great Muta's version of the running elbow drop was quicker and lacked the theatrics that The Rock added to his version, it was still an inspiration for the move that would become one of The Rock's signature maneuvers.

The Rock's delayed version of the People's Elbow involved him taking off his elbow pads to pop the crowd before hitting the ropes, which added to the excitement of the move.

Despite criticism that the People's Elbow was unrealistic and not impactful enough to secure a three-count, The Rock made it an iconic move in wrestling lore.

In a recent interview with ESPN's Marc Raimondi, The Great Muta revealed that The Rock had indeed copied his People's Elbow move.

The Great Muta is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, and fans believe that he definitely deserves the honor.

Regardless of where the inspiration for the People's Elbow came from, The Rock will always be grateful to The Great Muta for what he did for the world of professional wrestling.

The Rock's impact on the industry cannot be denied, and his contributions will always be remembered.
