NBA Declines Suspension For Dillon Brooks Despite Foul On LeBron James In Game 3 Against Lakers

Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies will not face suspension after his below-the-belt hit on LeBron James during Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN reported that the hit was deemed a Flagrant 2 foul, which resulted in Brooks’ immediate ejection from the game.

However, he should be available to play in Game 4. Brooks struggled in Game 3, shooting just 3-of-13 from the field for seven points in 19 minutes.

The Grizzlies had a hard time scoring early, which led to the Lakers taking the lead and winning the game 111-101.

Despite the Grizzlies’ loss, Ja Morant had a great game, scoring 45 points with 13 assists and nine rebounds.

Nevertheless, the Lakers were able to hold them off to take the lead in the series.

Brooks has been a controversial player in the NBA this season due to his comments on and off the court.

He made headlines prior to this series when he stated that he didn’t mind facing LeBron James and the Lakers, leading NBA fans to believe he thought it would be an easy matchup.

Brooks has had to cover James during the regular season and in the playoffs, which is likely why he received a technical foul.

He led the NBA in technicals this season and was suspended for one game after receiving his 18th technical foul on March 21.

His ejection comes after Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green was suspended for one game in the series against the Sacramento Kings after stomping on Domantas Sabonis.

The Grizzlies and Lakers will continue their series with Game 4 on Monday at 10 p.m. ET.
