Reports indicate that Gervonta Davis, a prominent boxer, has been sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and 200 hours of community service following a hit-and-run accident in November 2020 that injured four people.

Davis pleaded guilty to four traffic offences in February of this year, including leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, driving with a revoked license, running a red light, and failing to notify of property damage.

The probation period will last three years. A pregnant woman was among those injured in the incident.

The presiding judge, Althea M. Handy, stated in February that Davis had agreed to plead guilty with no guarantee of a specific sentence.

The boxer's sentencing follows his seventh-round knockout victory over Ryan Garcia on April 22, in front of a packed crowd in Las Vegas, at a catchweight of 136 pounds.

According to the prosecution, the hit-and-run occurred around 2am on November 5, 2020, after Davis left a nightclub in downtown Baltimore, driving a Lamborghini under police escort.

The boxer allegedly drove away from the convoy at one point, ran a red light, and then collided with the passenger side of a 2004 Toyota Solara.

Despite making eye contact with Jyair Smith, a pregnant woman inside the vehicle, Davis did not offer assistance, according to the prosecution.

Davis's punishment for his crime includes house arrest and community service, in addition to probation, which serves as a warning that if he violates the terms of his sentencing, he could face additional legal consequences.

It is unclear how Davis's community service will be carried out or whether he has accepted the sentence.

However, Davis's actions should serve as a warning to others that reckless behavior, especially on the road, can have severe consequences, and it is crucial to take responsibility for one's actions.
