Brazilian UFC Fighter Felipe Colares Dies at 29 After Being Hit By Bus

Felipe "Cabocão" Colares, a Brazilian UFC fighter, has died at the age of 29.

Reports suggest that he was hit by a bus on Monday morning while returning from training on Avenida das Américas in Guaratiba.

His trainer Rodrigo Babi confirmed the news, and Colares was attended to by the fire department before being taken to Rocha Faria Hospital.

Unfortunately, he died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. MMA Fighting also confirmed the fighter's death on the same day.

Colares was a former Jungle Fight featherweight champion and had a record of 11-4 in MMA, with six fights in the UFC from 2019 to 2022. He was survived by his wife Jacqueline and their 10-month-old son Rhavi.

After the news of his death broke out, USA Today reporter Nolan King shared a video on Twitter in which Colares can be seen stopping an alleged phone thief on the streets of Rio.

The Brazilian fighter's sudden demise has shocked the MMA community, and tributes have been pouring in from all over the world.

Many of his fellow UFC fighters and other MMA professionals have shared their condolences on social media.

Colares was considered an up-and-coming fighter in the UFC and had gained popularity with his performances in the octagon.
