Damar Hamlin, the Buffalo Bills Safety who collapsed on the field in January due to cardiac arrest, has announced that the approximately $10 million raised through two online fundraisers will be donated to his charity.

Hamlin had originally set up a GoFundMe page for a local toy drive but was inundated with support after the incident during a Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In a statement to the Associated Press, the 25-year-old NFL star said that he was "excited to begin sharing news about programs we are creating to impact a generation of youth and give back to others."

During the meeting, he primarily communicated through hand gestures, but towards the end, he spoke to express his affection, saying, "Love you boys."

The Chasing M's Foundation, which Hamlin established in Pennsylvania, will receive the donations, pending the approval of retroactive tax-exempt status. The charity's mission is to support the aspirations of youth and community members through sports and education and to promote health and safety in sports through CPR and AED training.

Hamlin's collapse on the field has inspired him to raise awareness about heart health and to push for better access to defibrillators in schools. He has given speeches at the NFL Honors awards and appeared before Congress to support the Access to AEDs Act.

Hamlin's road to recovery has been an inspiration to many in the sports world. After nine days in the hospital, he was discharged and began his journey back to health.

The Bills announced last month that doctors had fully cleared him to return to the field, and he has been making progress physically and mentally. In an interview with the American Heart Association, Hamlin said that he was focusing on taking one step at a time and staying positive.

The $10 million raised for Hamlin's charity is a testament to the support and admiration that he has earned through his courage and dedication. His commitment to giving back to his community and helping young people is an inspiration to others, and his story is a reminder of the importance of taking care of one's health and well-being.

With the donations, Hamlin's charity will be able to make a significant impact on the lives of many, and his legacy will be one of compassion and generosity. The success of the fundraisers is also a reminder of the power of social media and online communities to rally behind causes and individuals in times of need.

The outpouring of support for Hamlin demonstrates the capacity for people to come together and make a difference, even in the face of tragedy and uncertainty. The impact of the donations will be felt far beyond Hamlin and his charity, as they represent a collective effort to make the world a better place.

As Hamlin returns to the field and continues his work to raise awareness about heart health and promote safety in sports, his story will serve as a source of inspiration for many.

His courage and resilience in the face of adversity are a reminder of the power of the human spirit, and his commitment to giving back to his community is a testament to his character and values.

With the support of his fans and the resources of his charity, Hamlin is poised to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of many.
