According to a report from ESPN on Tuesday, Bob Myers, the general manager of the Golden State Warriors, is stepping down after playing a crucial role in the team's success over the past decade.
Myers himself confirmed to ESPN that he will be leaving the Warriors when his current contract expires at the end of June. "It's just time," Myers said, as quoted by ESPN.
Myers joined the organization as an assistant general manager in 2011 and was promoted to the position of general manager the following year.

Throughout his 11 seasons in this role, the Warriors achieved four NBA championships in six appearances in the NBA Finals.
Myers was widely recognized as instrumental in the team's accomplishments, particularly in retaining star players such as Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson, who formed the core of the championship-winning sides.
Earlier this month, Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed his desire for Myers to stay with the team, emphasizing their strong friendship and working relationship.
However, Kerr also expressed his support for Myers' decision, emphasizing that their friendship would endure regardless of his choice.
