LeBron James Reacts To NBA Probe Into Referee's Alleged Burner Account As Patrick Beverley Weighs In

LeBron James has responded on Twitter to the NBA's investigation into referee Eric Lewis' alleged burner account.

The account in question was deleted shortly after being exposed by users on social media. James, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, expressed his skepticism regarding the allegations by using an "eyebrow raise" emoji.

However, he may be surprised if the league's probe ultimately confirms that the account did belong to Lewis.

On Twitter, James tweeted, "This Eric Lewis [poop emoji] true?" The suspicions surrounding Lewis began when a photo surfaced showing his wife and children wearing Boston Celtics jerseys.

Lewis, who is 52 years old, officiated a Lakers vs. Celtics game earlier this year. In that game, a potential game-winning play involving Jayson Tatum fouling James went uncalled by the referees.

Patrick Beverley, who was a member of the Lakers roster at the time, received a technical foul for grabbing a camera from a photographer and showing Lewis the missed foul. Beverley, aged 34, also weighed in on the Lewis situation, reminding everyone on Saturday that he was right to show him the camera.

The game in question featured several other questionable calls in favor of the Celtics and missed calls benefiting the Lakers. It remains to be seen how the league will handle this situation if the allegations against Lewis are proven to be true.

It may prompt a discussion about whether referees should be allowed to officiate games involving teams associated with their families.

The unfolding investigation has generated significant interest, and many are eagerly awaiting the league's response.
