Serena Williams, the tennis legend, revealed her pregnancy as she walked the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala ceremony with her husband Alexis Ohanian.

The 41-year-old showed off her prominent baby bump while wearing an elegant Gucci dress. The couple already has a daughter named Alexis Olympia Jr., born in 2017.

Serena had previously mentioned wanting to have another child after announcing her retirement from tennis in August of last year.

Serena showed off her bump in a striking black dress that hugged her curves and featured a plunging bedazzled collar that highlighted her cleavage.

Her husband, Alexis, opted to let his wife shine and wore a simple black tuxedo with a large black bow tie. The theme for this year's Met Gala is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which honors the late German designer, Chanel's long-time creative director.

The decision to honor Lagerfeld has sparked controversy due to the many offensive remarks he made over the years.

The MET Gala is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, and last year alone raised $17.4 million. This year, the price of admission has been raised from $30,000 to $50,000, and every guest has to be invited.

Serena appears to have first revealed her pregnancy during a Vogue livestream while chatting with La La Anthony.

Serena previously mentioned that there were three people there for the interview — herself, Alexis, and the baby. The couple's excitement about their impending arrival was evident as they shared images of Serena's pregnancy on Instagram.

Before the Gala, Serena shared her preparation in Instagram Stories videos, including a humorous clip of her taking a bite of a cheeseburger while another woman wiped her lips gently to keep her makeup pristine.

Anna Wintour, who runs and hosts the annual event, co-hosted the 2023 MET Gala with Penelope Cruz, Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, and Roger Federer. The hottest stars are a shoo-in for an invite, and even if you have the funds, that doesn't guarantee you entry into the party.

A waiting list exists for the coveted golden ticket. Paris Hilton is among the big names attending in what will be her first Met Gala. Meanwhile, Blake Lively, a frequent attendee, announced she would not be at the party.
