Gervonta Davis Released From Jail, Ready To Reignite Boxing Career

Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, who recently completed his jail sentence for an alleged hit and run, has emerged looking quite different.

Sporting a beard, atrophied physique, and long hair, Davis appears to have lost weight during his time behind bars. Despite his altered appearance, the 'Face of Boxing' is now free to resume his professional career.

Observers have noted that Davis bears a resemblance to Shawn Porter, with his blowout afro and beard, although he lacks Porter's penchant for flashy attire. It remains unclear whether Davis intentionally adopted this new look or simply does not concern himself with his appearance.

Regardless, he now has the opportunity to return to his recently acquired multimillion-dollar penthouse apartment. While Davis prepares to reignite his boxing career, he must exercise caution on the roads to avoid another incarceration.

Another car accident and subsequent jail time would hinder his ability to earn lucrative purses in fights against notable opponents such as Ryan Garcia, Rolly Romero, and Hector Gonzalez. Having been in jail for over a month due to a violation of his home detention terms, the 28-year-old secondary WBA lightweight champion will soon make his comeback.

It remains to be seen how long it will take for Davis to secure his next fight and who his opponent will be. Given his extended absence from the ring, it is likely that he will opt for a less challenging opponent, similar to his previous bout.

Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz has emerged as a prominent candidate for Davis' next fight following his release from jail. However, it is highly unlikely that Davis will face formidable opponents such as Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Frank Martin, Teofimo Lopez, or Vasily Lomchenko.

A rematch with 'Pitbull' Cruz on Showtime PPV seems like a plausible option. Nevertheless, if Davis wishes to earn the respect of the boxing community and break away from facing only B-level opposition, he should consider facing the likes of Stevenson or Haney in his next bout.

It is crucial for Davis to return to the ring as soon as possible. Idle hands, as the saying goes, are the devil's workshop. By staying active with training and fighting, Davis can minimize the chances of getting into trouble outside of the sport.
