Former Houston Football Star D.J. Hayden Killed In Houston Car Crash

In a devastating incident, former Houston football star and ex-NFL player D.J. Hayden, aged 33, lost his life in a car accident in Houston. 

The Raiders confirmed his passing, expressing sorrow for the loss of the former cornerback. Born in Houston, Hayden played college football at the University of Houston, where he gained recognition for his resilience after surviving a near-fatal heart injury during practice. 

Drafted by the Raiders in 2013, he went on to play for four NFL teams, including the Jaguars and Lions. The fatal crash occurred early Saturday morning, involving two cars – a Chrysler 300 and an Acura SUV. Police identified the driver of the Chrysler as at fault, going through a red light at high velocity.

Hayden and five others, including former Cougar Zach McMillian, tragically lost their lives. The University of Houston community mourns the loss of Hayden, McMillian, and former offensive lineman Ralph Oragwu, who also perished in the crash. 

The school extends condolences to their families and emphasizes the indelible impact these individuals made on those around them. Hayden's courage and dedication were highlighted by the Raiders, and the entire Raider Nation joins in expressing condolences. 


The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the incident, and further details are awaited. As the sports world grieves the loss of a talented athlete and resilient individual, D.J. Hayden's legacy will be remembered for his contributions on and off the field.

Billie Eilish Yanked Into Crowd By Fan In Shocking Miami Concert Moment
