James Harden Climbs NBA's All-Time Assists List In Rockets-Clippers Showdown

In a thrilling face-off between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets on Friday evening, basketball fans witnessed James Harden make NBA history. 

The 2018 MVP ascended on the all-time assists list, surpassing Hall of Famer Tony Parker. Harden entered the game tied with Parker at 7,036 career assists, securing the 19th spot on the prestigious list.

However, by the end of the night, he moved ahead, setting his sights on the next milestone—overtaking Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway's 7,095 assists.

Notably, Harden, acquired in a recent trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, showcased his versatile skills throughout the game, boasting averages of 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest in his first five appearances.

The 34-year-old, selected as the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft from Arizona State, is in his 15th season, having played for notable teams such as the 76ers, Clippers, Rockets, Nets, and Thunder.


Despite the Clippers' struggles, currently standing at 3-7 with a six-game losing streak, Harden's addition to the roster adds an intriguing dynamic for the team and fans alike. 

The Rockets-Clippers matchup marked a historic moment in James Harden's illustrious career, solidifying his legacy on the NBA's all-time assists list.
