LeBron James Makes NBA History, Surpasses 39,000 Career Points

In a historic moment, LeBron James solidifies his legacy as the NBA's all-time scoring leader by becoming the first player to surpass 39,000 career points. 

The Los Angeles Lakers' victory over the Utah Jazz, sealing an undefeated run through Group Play in the NBA In-Season Tournament, marked the occasion.

James achieved this milestone with a 3-pointer in the first quarter, finishing the game with 17 points in just 24 minutes.

Reflecting on his achievement, he expressed humility, acknowledging the greatness of players who came before him.

"I haven't had an opportunity to really wrap my head around what that means," said James. "To be able to accomplish something that’s the first of anything, I think that’s always pretty cool. It’s a wild moment, that’s for sure."

Even in his 21st season, LeBron James continues to perform at an elite level, boasting averages of 26.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. 

If he maintains this pace and stays healthy, James is on track to reach the unprecedented 40,000-point mark around the All-Star break.
