Appointing Doc Rivers as their new head coach, the Milwaukee Bucks have made a swift move, with him succeeding Adrian Griffin, who was dismissed 43 games into the 2023-24 season.

A seasoned coach and former Coach of the Year, Rivers is set to lead the Bucks through the remainder of the season. Rivers, who began the season as a TV analyst with ESPN, is returning to the NBA bench to guide the Bucks.

Despite a solid 30-13 record, Milwaukee faces defensive challenges, ranking 21st in defensive rating and 25th in opponent points in the paint.

The Bucks' core, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, aims to navigate a tougher schedule ahead. Lillard's absence in a recent loss to Utah and struggles against the Indiana Pacers highlight the team's need for strategic coaching.

Doc Rivers brings a rich coaching history, having led the Philadelphia 76ers last season. Despite consistent regular-season success, the Sixers fell short in the playoffs, leading to Rivers' departure.

His coaching career includes stints with the Clippers, Celtics, and Magic, with notable achievements such as an NBA title with the Celtics in 2007-08. Rivers' ties to Milwaukee run deep, having played for Marquette from 1980-83, and his No. 31 jersey hangs in the Fiserv Forum rafters.

With an impressive coaching record and a connection to the city, Rivers aims to elevate the Bucks' performance and potentially replicate past championship glory. (Source: NBA)

During the bout, Gaethje landed heavy punches and kicks that Khabib admitted were painful. “He hit like a truck,” Khabib said on Mike Tyson ’s Hotboxin' podcast. “His left hook, right hook, uppercut—they all hurt. But I made him hit me because I knew he didn’t like wrestling. My plan was to tire him out by standing with him, then take him to the ground and finish the fight.” Photo: Khabib Nurmagomedov / Instagram Khabib ended the fight with a triangle choke submission. He explained he chose the move out of respect for Gaethje’s parents, who were watching. “I didn’t want to break his arm in front of his parents,” Khabib said. “So I put him to sleep instead.
