Draymond Green Makes Comeback Against Grizzlies After 'Indefinite' Suspension

Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green returned to action against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, ending his 16-game absence due to an indefinite league suspension. 

The suspension was a result of Green's history of misconduct, notably striking Phoenix center Jusuf Nurkic in the face during a December 12 game.

Entering the game off the bench, Green faced a chorus of boos from the Memphis crowd, with the city experiencing unusual weather conditions, including snow and low temperatures.

This marked Green's first appearance since the incident with Nurkic, where he received a Flagrant 2 and was ejected. The subsequent league suspension, imposed on December 14, cited Green's "repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts," with the December 12 ejection being his 18th.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr highlighted Green's importance as an emotional leader and a source of energy for the team. The suspension had left a communication gap on defense, according to Kerr.

Although reinstated by the league on January 3, Green's return to action was delayed until the Martin Luther King Day game against the Grizzlies. The Warriors had a 8-8 record during Green's suspension.
