Former NBA Star Rajon Rondo Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges In Indiana

On Sunday, former NBA champion Rajon Rondo faced legal trouble in Indiana, where he was arrested during a routine traffic stop. 

Indiana State Police discovered a firearm, a "personal use" amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia during the search prompted by the smell of marijuana. 

Rondo, prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous no-contact order, now faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, along with drug paraphernalia and marijuana misdemeanors.

The 37-year-old, who immediately posted bond upon arrival at Jackson County Jail, had an emergency order of protection filed against him in 2022 by a woman in Louisville, Kentucky. 

The order, stemming from alleged threats and an incident involving a gun, was initially dismissed in June 2022 but reinstated in August 2023.

Rondo, known for his successful NBA career spanning 16 seasons with multiple teams, including the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, won two NBA championships. 

His most recent appearance in the league was with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022. The former star player is now facing legal challenges, adding a new chapter to his post-basketball life. (Source: Breacher Report)
