NBA Admits Referees Missed 10 Calls In Final 2 Minutes, Spoiling Karl-Anthony Towns' 62-Point Game vs. Hornets

Confirmed by the NBA, in a controversial turn of events, officials missed a staggering 10 calls in the final two minutes of Monday's clash between the Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The mismanagement of crucial moments marred what could have been a historic night for Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 62 points, tying his franchise record.

Towns, visibly frustrated, pleaded for a foul on his late go-ahead attempt, which could have altered the course of the game. The NBA's last-two-minute report revealed that Towns was fouled twice during the play, contributing to the Hornets' 128-125 victory.

Among the 10 missed calls, six favored the Hornets, including the pivotal late drive by Towns. The league also highlighted two travels and two uncalled personal fouls by Charlotte, along with errors in assigning a personal foul to the wrong player and three non-calls on Timberwolves' fouls.

Despite the officiating controversy, the NBA emphasized that the Timberwolves' collapse, turning a 15-point lead into a loss, was not solely attributed to the missed calls. Head coach Chris Finch condemned his team's "disgusting" and "immature" performance.


While the Hornets had already staged a comeback, erasing the deficit before the officiating errors, the acknowledgment of the 10 missed calls has sparked a debate on the referees' role in the outcome.
