Grizzlies Swap Steven Adams For Victor Oladipo And Draft Picks In Pre-Trade Deadline Move

The Memphis Grizzlies have executed a trade, sending veteran center Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets in a significant prelude to the looming NBA trade deadline on Feb. 8.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies secured Victor Oladipo and three draft picks in return.

The trade includes two 2024 second-round picks and one 2025 second-round pick, enhancing the Grizzlies' future prospects.

Despite Adams being sidelined for the entire 2023-24 season due to a knee injury, he is expected to make a comeback in the 2024-25 season.

The move strategically bolsters the Rockets' roster, providing valuable depth behind emerging star Alperen Sengun. 

On the other hand, Oladipo, who has been recovering from a knee injury sustained in the previous year's playoffs, is set to enter unrestricted free agency this summer.

This transaction marks the first major shift in player dynamics as teams gear up for the approaching trade deadline, setting the stage for potential further roster adjustments across the league. (Source: Sports Illustrated)
