Sacramento Kings' dynamic guard Malik Monk will be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in his right knee.

Monk, a key contender for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, sustained the injury during the Kings' recent matchup against the Mavericks, where he collided with Luka Doncic in the first half.

Monk's absence deals a significant blow to the Kings' playoff aspirations, as they currently strive to secure a top-six spot in the Western Conference to avoid the SoFi Play-In Tournament.

With Monk averaging career-high stats of 15.4 points and 5.1 assists per game this season, his impact on the team's performance is undeniable.

This injury setback compounds the Kings' woes, as they are already missing guard Kevin Huerter, who is likely out for the remainder of the season due to a left shoulder injury.

Despite the setbacks, coach Mike Brown remains optimistic about the team's prospects and leaves open the possibility of Huerter's return for a deep playoff run, emphasizing his continued engagement with the team.

As Sacramento navigates through these challenges, the team will need to rally together and find ways to maintain their competitive edge in Monk's absence. Stay tuned for further updates on Monk's recovery and the Kings' playoff push.

He explained he chose the move out of respect for Gaethje’s parents, who were watching. “I didn’t want to break his arm in front of his parents,” Khabib said. “So I put him to sleep instead.
