Jamal Murray's Buzzer-Beater Seals Nuggets' Win Over Lakers In Game 2

Jamal Murray pulled off an incredible buzzer-beater to lead the Denver Nuggets to a thrilling 101-99 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their playoff series. The shot completed a remarkable 20-point comeback for the Nuggets at Ball Arena in Denver.

Murray's spectacular fadeaway over Anthony Davis sparked jubilant celebrations among Nuggets fans. "I just beat him to the spot, elevated, went through my shot, and I'm thankful it went down for me," Murray commented after the game.

Despite a slow start, missing 13 of his first 16 shots, Murray exploded in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 of his 20 points to fuel the Nuggets' comeback. The defending champions now lead the series 2-0 as it shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Thursday.

This victory extends the Nuggets' winning streak against the Lakers to 10 games. According to ESPN, Murray's buzzer-beater marked just the third time since 2000 that a team completed a 20-point comeback in the playoffs.

Anthony Davis led the charge for the Lakers with a dominant first half, scoring 24 points on an impressive 11-of-12 shooting. His performance, coupled with a strong showing from D’Angelo Russell, propelled the Lakers to a 15-point halftime lead.


The Lakers extended their advantage to 20 points early in the second half but failed to maintain their momentum. The Nuggets clawed their way back, cutting the deficit to single digits by the end of the third quarter.

Despite late-game heroics from LeBron James, who finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, and Russell's 23 points, the Lakers couldn't hold off the Nuggets' comeback.


Davis ended the game with 32 points and 11 rebounds, while Nikola Jokić recorded a triple-double for the Nuggets with 27 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Lakers are optimistic about Jarred Vanderbilt's return for Game 3 after he participated in intense workouts recently. Vanderbilt has been sidelined since February due to a right midfoot sprain.

Though the Lakers are hopeful for Vanderbilt's return, they are also waiting on Christian Wood's availability. Wood has been recovering from knee surgery.

Vanderbilt and Wood's potential returns could bolster the Lakers' depth as they look to bounce back in Game 3 against the Nuggets.
