Mookie Betts Nominated For 2024 Sports Emmy

Mookie Betts, the versatile athlete known for his prowess on the baseball field, has added another feather to his cap. 

The two-time World Series champion has been nominated for a 2024 Sports Emmy in the Emerging On-Air Talent category. 

This nomination comes on the heels of Betts' stellar performance in various roles both on and off the baseball diamond.

In the past year alone, Betts has demonstrated his adaptability by transitioning to the infield, assuming the role of starting shortstop for his team, and earning a commendable second place in the 2023 National League MVP voting. Now, he's being recognized for his off-field contributions as well.

Betts has been hosting Bleacher Report's "On Base With Mookie Betts" podcast since 2023, where he engages fellow MLB stars in insightful conversations about their lives and careers. His foray into broadcasting has earned him praise from his peers and fans alike.


Manager Dave Roberts commended Betts for his willingness to step out of his comfort zone and explore new opportunities. He highlighted Betts' natural charisma and ability to ask compelling questions, qualities that have endeared him to audiences beyond the baseball world.
