Rich Paul Says Bronny James Won’t Sign Two-Way Contract

Rich Paul, the agent representing Bronny James, has confirmed that Bronny won't be signing a two-way contract with any NBA team. Bronny, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, is represented by Klutch Sports, the same agency that handles his father.

Bronny has been busy with the NBA Draft process, participating in the NBA Draft Combine and showcasing his talents at the Klutch Sports Pro Day at the Lakers practice facility. His next steps include workouts with individual teams, and depending on his performance, he could be selected in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Paul discussed Bronny's draft prospects with Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, noting that opinions on where Bronny might be drafted vary widely. Some teams project him to go between picks 20 and 50, while others think he might go undrafted. However, Paul is focused on finding the right fit for Bronny, emphasizing that this process is similar for all his clients.

Most NBA insiders view Bronny as a developmental player, likely not ready to contribute immediately. Typically, players in this situation might sign a two-way contract, which allows them to split time between the NBA and the G League. However, Paul has made it clear that Bronny will not be taking this route, stating, "Yes, that’s absolutely true. Teams know that. I’m not doing that."

This stance could be significant if Bronny goes undrafted, as Paul aims to secure a standard NBA contract for him. The decision will hinge on what offers come in if Bronny isn't drafted.

In the lead-up to the draft, Bronny will limit his workouts to a few teams, with the Lakers and Phoenix Suns among them. These visits will allow interested franchises to evaluate his skills up close.
