Dwight Howard Recruits Two Ex-Lakers Teammates To His Team In Taiwan

Dwight Howard’s recruitment efforts are paying off. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the former NBA All-Star has successfully brought two of his ex-Lakers teammates to join him in Taiwan.

DeMarcus Cousins and Quinn Cook will be playing alongside Howard for the Taiwan Mustangs during the Asian Tournament in July.

Howard, Cousins, and Cook were part of the Los Angeles Lakers' 2020 NBA championship team, although Cousins did not play that season due to a torn ACL. Now, they will reunite on the Mustangs, a team in a league that Howard partly owns.

DeMarcus Cousins, 33, last played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season. He has been in Taiwan this year, playing for the Taiwan Beer Leopards of the T1 League and leading them to a championship as the Finals MVP.

Quinn Cook, 31, has played for several overseas teams in Russia, China, and Puerto Rico since his last NBA appearance in the 2020-21 season.

Howard, 38, has been in Taiwan since 2022, first with the Leopards before Cousins arrived and now with the Mustangs. Known for his humorous recruitment attempts, Howard has finally succeeded in bringing notable NBA talent to Taiwan.
