Ryan Garcia, the 25-year-old boxing star, has spoken out after being arrested for felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills. Following his arrest, Garcia was taken to a local hospital for medical care, though his condition remains unknown.

Garcia's publicist, Sarah Fink, released a statement on Sunday in which Garcia addressed his recent struggles. "Y'all know I’ve been dealing with incredible stress, pressure, and now the devastating news of my mom’s health," he said. Last week, Garcia’s mother, Lisa, revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, adding to the boxer’s challenges.

In addition to his personal struggles, Garcia faces a possible suspension after testing positive for a banned substance before and after his April 20 fight against Devin Haney. His legal team claims the positive tests were due to contaminated supplements.

Leading up to his fight against Haney, Garcia displayed erratic behavior but managed to pull off a significant upset, winning by majority decision. His manager, Lupe Valencia, emphasized Garcia's ongoing battle with mental health issues, saying, "Ryan has been open about his struggles with mental health over the years and at this time he is dealing with an immense emotional burden."

Valencia added that the team is committed to providing Garcia with the necessary resources for his well-being. "The support and understanding from fans and the public are crucial as he navigates these personal challenges," he said.

Garcia has previously been open about his mental health struggles. In 2021, he withdrew from a bout against Javier Fortuna to focus on his health, later revealing he had experienced severe depression and suicidal thoughts.

In his statement, Garcia expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying, "It’s always love. Thanks to my fans for always supporting me... Love and compassion win. Always."

Details about Garcia's location and condition remain unavailable. The Beverly Hills Fire Department, which transported Garcia to the hospital, declined to name the facility.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 5:15 p.m. PT, when police responded to a call about an intoxicated person at the hotel. Garcia, identified as the intoxicated individual, caused damage to a guest room and the hallway.
