Shannon Briggs Confirms Grudge Match With Rampage Jackson In America

Former heavyweight boxing champion Shannon Briggs has confirmed that his long-awaited grudge match with Rampage Jackson will finally take place in the United States.

The two former champions, Briggs in boxing and Jackson in UFC, have been embroiled in a feud since 2020, and after numerous delays and cancellations, it seems the showdown is on the horizon.

Originally slated to fight in Qatar, the bout was scrapped due to concerns over promoter fraud. Briggs, instead, made his way to New York to launch a boxing academy. In an interview with Bloody Elbow, Briggs revealed plans for the fight, aiming for September or October, possibly in Miami.

Despite not having fought since 2016 and turning 52 last December, Briggs is eager to return to the ring. He even offered to step in as a backup for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight in November, expressing his willingness to fight anyone, including Tyson and Jake Paul himself.

Briggs, who previously worked with Jake Paul and his brother Logan, is familiar with the family and is open to fighting for free to make the match happen. With his sights set on Jackson and a potential transition to MMA afterward, Briggs remains determined to make his comeback a reality.
