Tom Brady Inducted Into Patriots Hall of Fame: Robert Kraft Retires No. 12, Teases Statue

Tom Brady's legendary status with the New England Patriots was cemented on Wednesday as he was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. Fans packed Gillette Stadium to watch the historic event, where Brady received his red jacket in a grand ceremony.

Robert Kraft, the Patriots' owner, waived the usual four-year waiting period for Brady’s induction. The date, June 12th, was chosen to symbolize Brady’s six Super Bowl wins and his iconic No. 12 jersey, which was retired during the ceremony.

The celebration, lasting over two hours, highlighted Brady’s 20-year career with the Patriots and his family background. Former teammates shared stories and memories, while Brady’s family attended the event.

The ceremony opened with a performance by Jay-Z, who introduced Brady with “Public Service Announcement,” Brady’s entrance song at Foxborough. WWE star John Cena narrated Brady's introduction video.

Comedian Bill Burr and NBC's Mike Tirico hosted the event. Patriots legends Vince Wilfork, Devin McCourty, Ty Law, and Willie McGinest praised Brady's leadership and competitive spirit. A video featuring rivals like Eli Manning and Ray Lewis congratulating Brady included a playful jab from Charles Woodson about the infamous Tuck Rule.


Peyton Manning made a surprise appearance, reminiscing about his matchups with Brady and a private workout they had. Former quarterbacks Drew Bledsoe, Matt Cassell, and Brian Hoyer, along with coach Josh McDaniels, shared their experiences with Brady. Bledsoe joked about Brady being “the worst backup quarterback in NFL history.”

Receivers Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Randy Moss, and Julian Edelman also spoke. Moss received a loud ovation that brought him to tears. The tribute continued with messages from Boston sports legends and renowned announcers. Kenny Chesney performed “The Boys of Fall” live.


Bill Belichick’s appearance was another highlight. Introduced by Troy Brown and Deion Branch, Belichick received a warm welcome. He praised Brady, calling it a “tremendous honor and privilege” to coach him.

Robert Kraft then announced the retirement of Brady's No. 12 jersey and the commissioning of a 12-foot statue to be unveiled next season. Brady, donning his red jacket, addressed the crowd, expressing gratitude to his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and Kraft.


In his speech, Brady concluded, "I am Tom Brady, and I am a Patriot." His legacy with the Patriots is now officially enshrined forever.
