Nate Diaz Beats Jorge Masvidal By Majority Decision In Rematch

In an exciting boxing rematch, Nate Diaz defeated Jorge Masvidal by majority decision on Saturday night. The fight, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, ended with scores of 95-95, 97-93, and 98-92 in favor of Diaz. This win avenges Diaz’s TKO loss to Masvidal in their UFC clash at UFC 244.

From the start, Diaz was aggressive, throwing a flurry of punches in the first round. Masvidal, however, remained patient, landing powerful combinations and counter shots. Diaz impressed the crowd with his endurance and showmanship, smiling, dancing, and even walking away from Masvidal mid-round to loud cheers.

Diaz showcased his incredible stamina, throwing a total of 740 punches over 10 rounds. Although Masvidal landed more total punches (182) and power punches (152), the judges favored Diaz’s approach, awarding him the win.

After the fight, Diaz dismissed the idea of a trilogy with Masvidal. Instead, he set his sights on other opponents, including Jake Paul, UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, and top-ranked boxers. Masvidal, on the other hand, disagreed with the decision and called for a rematch, expressing his belief that he landed the harder shots.

This bout was a follow-up to their UFC days, where Masvidal won the "BMF" belt by defeating Diaz via TKO. The doctor stopped that fight due to a cut over Diaz's eye, leading to an anticlimactic finish.


Both fighters came into the match after long UFC careers. Masvidal, known for the fastest knockout in UFC history, lost his last four fights with the promotion, while Diaz had been less active since his rematch with Conor McGregor. Despite their ups and downs, they still held significant popularity in the MMA world, especially in their home states of California and Florida.


The buildup to Saturday's fight was intense, including a brawl at a news conference last month. In the end, fans got their money's worth with an entertaining match that added another chapter to the Diaz-Masvidal rivalry.
