Stipe Miocic Fires Back at Critics, Tells Fans To 'Stop Crying'

Stipe Miocic has a message for fans upset about the delay in the UFC heavyweight division: "Stop crying." The two-time champion, who hasn't fought since losing to Francis Ngannou in March 2021, is preparing for a comeback against Jon Jones. This will be Miocic's final attempt to reclaim the belt after Jones won the vacant title last year.

The fight was supposed to happen in New York City last year but was postponed due to Jones' injury. Instead of taking another fight, Miocic waited, and Tom Aspinall stepped in to knock out Sergei Pavlovich for the interim title.

Speaking to CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri, Miocic explained his stance: "The UFC can do what they want. I only want to fight Jon Jones. I'm not holding up the division. Fans need to stop complaining."

Many fans are also worried about Miocic's ability to compete after such a long layoff. His last win was against Daniel Cormier in 2020. However, Miocic remains confident, stating, "I am very competitive and have the best coaches. I think my style doesn't match well with Jones'. I'm ready to make it a fight."

Meanwhile, Jon Jones has confirmed the fight date and location: November 9 at Madison Square Garden. After a long injury recovery, Jones is back in training and shared his excitement on social media, saying, "Progress equals happiness. November 9th, Madison Square Garden. It's happening."


However, the date might not be final as the venue is already booked by David Gilmour. Fans will have to wait for an official confirmation from UFC.
