Patrick Beverley, a former LA Clippers guard and 12-year NBA veteran, recently explained his decision to leave the NBA and join Hapoel Tel Aviv BC, a team in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Beverley shared his thoughts on his podcast, saying, "I get to play basketball.

In my European career, I was MVP of the same league I'm going back to... In the NBA, I had to play different roles, but now I get to be the go-to guy again." Beverley reflected on his NBA career, mentioning how he enjoyed his time in the league but felt limited in his role.

He recalled a time with the Milwaukee Bucks when he had a standout game, only to see his role change when other players returned from injury. This shift led him to choose a new path where he could be the main focus on the court.

SportsCenter shared Beverley’s comments on Instagram, which quickly went viral with over 279,000 likes and 2,900 comments. Several former NBA stars showed their support:

Stephen Jackson commented, "Overseas is his best bet because he would have been on the bench or in the corner [in the NBA]. He made the right choice. Salute."
Nate Robinson added, "Let’s go, Pat! That team was the one I played for—they’re good people."
Quentin Richardson responded with fire emojis, showing his excitement.

All three players have history with the LA Clippers, just like Beverley, and supported his decision to take control of his career.

Beverley’s move marks a new chapter in his basketball journey, after playing for several NBA teams, including the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

During the bout, Gaethje landed heavy punches and kicks that Khabib admitted were painful. “He hit like a truck,” Khabib said on Mike Tyson ’s Hotboxin' podcast. “His left hook, right hook, uppercut—they all hurt. But I made him hit me because I knew he didn’t like wrestling. My plan was to tire him out by standing with him, then take him to the ground and finish the fight.” Photo: Khabib Nurmagomedov / Instagram Khabib ended the fight with a triangle choke submission. He explained he chose the move out of respect for Gaethje’s parents, who were watching. “I didn’t want to break his arm in front of his parents,” Khabib said. “So I put him to sleep instead.
