Gervonta Davis, known as Tank in the boxing world, has shocked fans by hinting at his retirement. After an impressive career with 30 undefeated fights and 28 knockouts, the 30-year-old says he’s tired of boxing and plans to leave the sport in 2025.

Davis was set to defend his WBA lightweight title against Lamont Roach Jr. on December 14 in Houston but the fight has now been moved to March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This fight may mark the end of Tank’s career as he prepares his farewell.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Davis said: "After next year, I'm out of this... out of the sport." He went on to express frustration with boxing: "It's garbage... This shit is garbage, garbage... Fed up. Fed up with all the shit."

Despite this decision, Davis isn’t concerned about his legacy. In another interview with Fight Hype, he declared: "I don't even care about that, and where I come from, brother, I will always be the greatest. I'll be a G for myself forever."

Bill Haney has accused Davis of avoiding tough competition. Speaking to Vlad TV, Haney questioned whether Davis truly wants to face dangerous opponents like Shakur Stevenson.

Haney said, "I think 'Tank' is avoiding the real boxers. He is avoiding them for a reason." He also downplayed Lamont Roach Jr.'s chances against Davis, questioning his quality as a competitor.

The boxing world is now watching to see if Davis will follow through with his retirement plans after his fight in March. Fans are left wondering whether this marks the end of one of the sport’s most exciting careers. Source
