Ja Morant, star of the Memphis Grizzlies, ended his brief "no dunking" rule in spectacular fashion during a 127-121 win over the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. The victory was the Grizzlies' first in Boston since 2013.
Midway through the third quarter, Morant drove along the baseline, saw Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis at the rim, and delivered a stunning double-pump reverse dunk. Morant finished the game with 32 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and two steals in one of his best performances this season.
Earlier this month, Morant vowed to stop dunking to avoid injury, saying, "Two points is two points. I get it done, that's all that matters." His cautious approach followed a scary fall earlier this season after a mid-air collision, which left him sidelined for nearly three weeks.

Despite his concerns, Morant’s instincts took over against the Celtics, reminding fans why he’s one of the league's most exciting players. Dunk or no dunk, Morant has been vital to the Grizzlies' success. With him on the court, they are 10-4 this season, compared to 6-4 without him.
