Shohei Ohtani And Wife Mamiko Tanaka Steal The Show at Lakers Game

Shohei Ohtani, star of the Los Angeles Dodgers and one of baseball's biggest names, made headlines again this week—but not for his play on the field. Instead, it was Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, who captured attention during the Lakers vs. Trail Blazers game in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Ohtani, fresh off a historic season with the Dodgers, is coming off a World Series win after signing a record-breaking 10-year, $700 million contract. In 2023, he became the first MLB player ever to achieve 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. Although he didn't pitch last year due to UCL surgery, Ohtani remains a star both as a hitter and pitcher, boasting a career 3.01 ERA.

But this time, it wasn’t just Shohei making waves. His wife, Mamiko Tanaka, turned heads at the Lakers game. A former professional basketball player for the Fujitsu Red Wave in Japan, Tanaka rarely makes public appearances with Ohtani, which made the night even more special for fans.

The couple, who announced their marriage on February 28 via Instagram, received custom Lakers jerseys during the game. The Lakers shared the moment with the caption, “SHO-TIME 💜💛.” Fans on social media quickly buzzed about Tanaka, with many praising her style and athletic background.

One fan wrote, “Need Mamiko to suit up,” while another shared a photo of the couple, saying, “Sho & Mamiko @ the Lakers game.” Major League Baseball also shared a photo of the pair showing off their jerseys, adding, “Shohei Ohtani and Mamiko are at the Lakers game tonight and were gifted custom jerseys 💛💜.”

Ohtani, a three-time MVP, has become a sports icon in Los Angeles. After leading the Dodgers to a World Series championship in October, he’s now enjoying some downtime with his wife. Their courtside appearance at the Lakers game offered fans a rare glimpse of the power couple outside of the sports spotlight. Source

Photo: Matt Heafy / Instagram   TRIVIUM’s Matt Heafy has spoken out about the early end of “The Poisoned Ascendancy” tour with Bullet For My Valentine. The two bands started the run earlier this year to honor the 20th anniversaries of “Ascendancy” and “The Poison.” Plans were made for a full world tour, but things stopped after just three months.
